I kept coming across this on Facebook and it seemed so apt for our kitchens. This message is not only for those who lead a brigade – it’s for all of us to pay heed to. We’re all talking about the shortage of chefs in the industry, and this problem might not seem like ours to solve as individuals. But we have to make sure that our actions and ways of being are part of the solution, and not adding to the problem.
Yes, there still is space for criticism, disagreement and disapproval. But before you deliver any of that, take a pause to remember that you’re addressing a human being, chef.
