When you honour your need to find balance in your life, it not only feeds back into your work, but t also changes who you are as a person. We seldom look at it this way, but we choose goals that make us more of who we truly are and allow us to fulfill our potential.

But somehow we get the message that it’s all about chasing results: awards, recognition, good reviews. Many high-achievers will tell you that they feel empty once they’ve ticked off the goals they set out to conquer. Because accomplishments alone are not enough. Equally important is that sense of ‘beingness’ that comes in part from nurturing who you are outside of your work.
