When you’re facing a stressful situation, it helps to ground yourself as quickly as you can. Easier said than done of course, but all it takes is tuning into your body.

Stress shows up in different places: your breathing gets shallow and your heart races, your mind buzzes from wanting to control the situation, sometimes you feel it in your gut. Pay attention to these reactions for a moment.

What happens in that instant is you detach yourself from the stress you’re going through. That’s powerful, because you’re almost taking back control. Next, feel into that part of your core that feels grounded and draw whatever strength or courage you need to deal with the situation.

This will change the way you show up, chef.
