clarity

The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do you remember those occasions in the kitchen when things have gone smoothly, without too much effort? There were probably multiple variables at play, but you can pretty much credit it to one secret ingredient that gets you to your result quickly. And that’s clarity of purpose.

When you’re clear about what it is exactly that you want to achieve, you’re not confused about what actions to take or what to prioritise or even how to do things. You’re able to channel all your energy towards the goal. And that applies to goals of any scale – whether it’s getting the desired result from a task, a plating style, a marketing plan or even your restaurant concept.

Would you agree that this should also be true: that anytime you feel lost, confused, overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed, you can simply connect to your purpose or intention and find guidance that lights your way? And rather than seeing roadblocks and obstacles, you see a clear path?

The best part is that the clarity of purpose comes from within you. You’re not seeking an external source to solve your dilemma, but what’s powerful is that the answer, in almost every case, is within you. Isn’t that an empowering thought, chef?
