This is my message for every woman in Hospitality who has ever faced a challenge because of who she was: it was never only about us.
There is more to the brigade system and how it was set up, than it being just about our faults or imagined faults. As much as it can feel very personal when you are made to feel less than your male peers, it is important to look at the bigger context.
And to also consider the other side of the coin. I believe that when it comes to work life balance, that we might have a slight upper hand. Even if it appears that the system does not work in our favour.
