Guilt so often accompanies our thoughts about work-life integration: chefs miss out on social gatherings, celebrating milestones that our children have achieved or keeping the promises we make to our partners. And there are times when we go through long periods of constantly letting people down, without the power to change our circumstances.

But this is where we have to sometimes just accept the situation as it is, and say, “This is where I am currently am.” Because the guilt becomes yet another thing that drains our limited energy reserves, but does it take you any closer to resolving your problem, chef?
