Just for today, let’s not make anyone a hero.
We learnt with the passing of Anthony Bourdain that even our heroes might be hurting, but putting on a brave face as they share their light with us.
Just for today, let’s not try to be heroes.
Let’s embrace and accept that we’re human. That we have flaws and imperfections. Annoying habits and lots to regret.
Let’s acknowledge that things might be tough, that we still have a lot to learn, that we can’t tackle a problem on our own, that we’ve made big mistakes.
Let’s see that humanity in each other and do what we can to support, forgive and understand those around us.
After all, none of us have the instruction manual for life, do we, chef?
