camino-12

And so I finished my Camino at the Basilica de Begoña in Bilbao. My intention of doing the pilgrimage was to let go of old ways of being, and it wasn’t until the final 3km. of my 7-day journey that I aligned with that intention.

The past few months I’ve had to take a really hard look at some of my relationships and this whole escape to Sweden and the Basque Country was to examine more closely both how I relate to others as well as myself. I was impatient because I had resolved my side of things but I knew not to expect big changes anytime soon.

It was then that I decided: those old ways of relating to others and my old ways of being were no longer my story. After all, in every moment you have the choice to start afresh.

As I descended into Begoña, I cast aside everything that didn’t serve me anymore.
