A female chef in the kitchen plating dishes lined up for service.

Maybe you have had one of those days: everyone turns to you to fix their problems. To answer their questions, or even do their thinking for them. You have spent the day putting out more fires than getting things done. But you are exhausted by the end of your shift.

You withdraw your energy in an effort to preserve what little is left of it. When you head home, an elderly parent or your child are now asking for your attention.

They ask you for something you do not have to give in that moment. So the words fly out before you can stop them: words expressing your impatience, and perhaps even anger. Words that you instantly regret speaking.

Your response to a stressful situation – in this case, losing your temper – did not begin with those words that you could not control. This is where even the best of tactics and tools fail: it takes great self-control to apply them in the heat of the moment. And when we do not respond as we would have liked to, we beat ourselves up because “we know better”.

But what a coach can do is to support you in applying those tactics or tools successfully. By helping you see what you need in order to deal with the stress at the end of your shit.

Bookings are now open for the Rebalance Strategy Session. Want to learn more about how I can help you through coaching? Get in touch.
