Chefs in 2017 is back after a two-week break! The first sixteen weeks focussed on helping you anchor the ‘being’ part of working towards your goals. Now this is where we step into the ‘doing’ or action-taking part.

The whole premise of the series is that you know what you need to do to achieve your goals: you know how to work towards that job promotion, how to make that holiday happen, what’s needed to master a skill, etc. So rather than give you advice on fine-tuning your plans, this week is one for contemplation. It’s for you to take stock of your own plans and planning strategies.

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself:

  • How well is your plan or strategy working?
  • How motivated are you in putting that plan into action?
  • How likely are you to achieve that goal?

Sometimes, what’s called for is stopping, getting really honest with yourself and seeing how things are going. It makes a whole world of difference when you let your plan guide you, but are never too rigid or inflexible to make course corrections as you go along. Your goal not only brings out your determination and strength, but also the equally important qualities of humility, being flexible and learning to surrender.
