slowing-down

I’ve decided to practice what I preach to you about self care and slow down.

That’s the message I’m getting from my body right now. If you’ve noticed that there have been fewer posts in here lately, it’s because I’ve been exhausted. I’ve been going through a lot of personal growth since the end of last year that’s taken a lot of energy.

Did I expect that at all? Not when I pencilled in a number of projects I wanted to start this year. But something tells me to flow with life and honour the process I am going through. This growth phase might be more important than any project that I launch. After all, the more I grow on the inside, the better the insights I will have to share with you.

So, no more push push. I’ve swapped my ambitious plan for a fluid goal that’s not bound by details. Big mistake, some might say. But I am comforted by the fact that to achieve that goal, I will have to create massive value for you. And I know that if anything will spur me on, it’s that intention which guides everything I do here. It’s my ‘why’.

Here are some practices I’m adopting:

  • I’m cooking and eating mindfully
  • When my mind chatter gets out of hand, I centre myself and connect to what’s within
  • If I need rest, I give myself permission to rest
  • Rather than being in my head, I let my inner knowing guide what I will work on
  • I honour my boundaries and make them clear to other people, instead of being nice
  • I constantly audit my energy – is it worth giving my energy to something?

That sense of urgency, the need to do, to be, to get here, to go there, all have taken a back seat. I’m trying to be where I am at any particular moment. Fully there. I trust that I’ll get to the same destination. But this time, I’ll be whole when I get there – not parts of me scattered everywhere.

So, got any tips for me? But I’d love to learn from your experience of what you’ve done in the past or are currently doing to slow down!
