What if I learnt to trust my intuition through life as much as I did these signposts guiding my Camino? I regretted not having made reservations for accommodation before I got to Lezama (the albergue was closed). It was the eve of El Día de Todos los Santos, a national holiday in Spain and the recommended place had no vacancies. Frustrated at the thought of having to walk to the next town, I noticed a sign for another little hotel, took the chance of pursuing it, and found myself a room there for the night.
It turns out that I had made the right choice in not reserving ahead, but the trust only came after I saw the result. It made me think: how many signs and warnings from our inner knowing do we ignore? How much more effortless our lives would be if we operated from that place!
